Teen Camp Success
We’re sad to see them go, but so glad that our teens had a great summer learning Spanish in Costa Rica. From making new friends, to trying new foods, to Tarzan Swings in the Cloud Forest, this year’s teen camp was our best one yet! After week one, teens enjoyed a weekend traveling to Arenal and Monteverde with their chaperone, Chili, and tour guide who they endearingly referred to as “typical Jerry”.
On Sunday they made it to Sámara Beach where things heated up- literally! Monday’s surf lesson was a hit and they made it back into the water several times after that to catch some waves. Spanish lessons at the beach were divided up so that they spent the first few hours in the classroom in their varied levels, then joined each other out in the gardens for games in Spanish for the last hour of class. They enjoyed a beach bonfire, nature hike, cooking class, Latin dance and spent their last night volunteering at the turtle conservation project in Camaronal. It rained that green-season rain that night, but the teens were able to see one mother turtle laying her eggs.
We’d love to welcome our teen graduates back next year and look forward to creating another unforgettable, Pura Vida adventure! See photo highlights from this trip here.
