Nelson stammt aus Guanacaste, Costa Rica, wo er seinen Bachelorabschluss in Pädagogik mit Schwerpunkt auf Fremdsprachen an der Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica in Nicoya absolvierte. Nelson studierte zudem, als Teil des seines Studiums, Englisch, ist aber als Costa-Ricaner besonders an der costa ricanischen Kultur interessiert. Er bringt seinen Studenten mit viel Freude alles über die Sprache und Kultur Costa Ricas und besonders Guanacaste, eine Region reich an kulturellem Erbe, bei. Nelson arbeitet seit Juni 2017 bei Intercultura. In seiner Freizeit liest er gerne, spielt Fußball und schwimmt.
