QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE
What is the main difference between the two programs: 2-week Summer Camp vs. 1-week+ Academic Immersion Program?
In both programs we make sure that teenagers receive total Spanish language & cultural immersion, with interactive and dynamic classes, educationally tailored to the age group. In both programs, teenagers stay with our trusted homestay families.
However, the 2-week Summer Teen Camp´s focus lies primarily in discovering Costa Rica in a fun, dynamic and socially-conscious program, which includes two volunteer excursions, one at each campus location, plenty of daily activities and a weekend excursion. The teen camp usually consists of a larger group, 10 – 15 teens, who spend a lot of time together, making the program less personalized to each individual’s needs, but guaranteeing lots of fun and adventure throughout their stay.
The Teen Academic Immersion, on the other hand, focuses on a small-group or individual, intensive Spanish learning program with stringent academic standards. It is a more economical option, and is offered year-round for those looking for a personalized Spanish & Homestay Program for Middle & High School students. The teen(s) will also volunteer twice a week and participate in our daily cultural activities offered for all students. There is also one cultural tour per week included. In general parents choose this program if they want their child to be fully immersed with certain academic goals in mind. Teens can come individually, or parents may form their own mini-groups. We are able to fully customize the program to the needs of the group (max. 6 teens per group). Teens can participate for one week or more, as they choose.
While the Summer Camp is split between both campuses, city and beach locations, the Academic Immersion Program is only available at our city campus.
