Sydney is originally from Tennessee, but has had a passion for Costa Rican culture, community and landscapes since studying for a year at the Costa Rican Universidad Nacional in Heredia in 2012. She holds a B.A. in World Languages, Spanish Concentration, and a B.S. in Global Studies & Cultural Geography from Tennessee State University. She is familiar with Latin American culture and infrastructure, having travelled extensively in this region of the world and studied in Chile at the Universidad Andrés Bello. Previously, Sydney worked as the Director of an International Residence Hall at Middle Tennessee State University and was the primary liaison for exchange students from more than 10 countries. Sydney is passionate about travel and intercultural communication. She is a certified TEFL instructor and has been in the ESL teaching world for many years. She loves working at Intercultura because it is a multicultural space, where she can meet, help and guide people from all over the world. In her free time, she loves hiking in the mountains, practicing yoga and cooking with friends and family.
