Isabella Torres Cabatingan
Isabella was born in Costa Rica, but has dual-nationality from the United States. She holds a B.Sc from Costa Rica’s prestigious EARTH University, founded by the Costa Rican government and US AID to provide sustainable development education to students from around the world, and where she was also able to share experiences and work with students from many cultures and backgrounds. Isabella studied sustainable agriculture, with a focus on her passion to involve sustainability in education, which in turn led her to working at a school in Tanzania with girls from vulnerable backgrounds.
Isabella loves to travel and has be able to visit countries in almost every continent: from these experiences, she has become familiar with Latin American and North American culture, but has also learned about African, Asian and European societies. This, combined with growing up in a bilingual- bicultural family has given her a wide perspective on, and interest in, global issues. Isabella loves working at Intercultura Costa Rica because it is a space where she can help and guide people from all over the world, and help educate through experience for a more respectful and empathetic world. In the near future Isabella hopes to begin graduate studies in education and rural development, and would love to continue travelling the world in her free time.
