Comments : I never got the opportunity to write to you all at Intercultural upon my return to the US in July 2008. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for everything as I had a wonderful experience. After living in Seville, Spain many years ago, I thought that I had \"lost\" some of my Spanish and coming to Costa Rica would be a great way to refresh and relearn many things. I did accomplish my goal and feel more prepared to handle my Spanish classes this year with a renewed confidence. It was well worth my time, effort and money and I look forward to another adventure in a few years in another Spanish speaking country. Thanks again and please tell my wonderful teachers, Vanesa and Nuria that I said hello!!
The Best Experience
''Intercultura provided me with an incredible and life changing experience. I was impressed with the quality of the teaching and the friendliness of the teachers. Everybody at Intercultura wants you to have a great time and an enriching experience and they go out of their way to ensure it. You will meet students from all over and feel you are travelling the world while being in Costa Rica. The family stay provides a great opportunity to get to know Costa Rican culture.
"I can report that Intercultura is a well-organized and well-run academic institution providing an excellent environment and high-quality training [in the Spanish language]..... I feel comfortable recommending Intercultura with great enthusiasm".
"I retired after 30 years in education in Canada: as a teacher, school principal, and superintendent responsible for several schools. From this perspective I was most impressed with Intercultura when I studied Spanish there recently. The school is

It‘s distracting when monkeys hang from the trees over your homework.
At the Intercultura Language School in Samara, Costa Rica, there are many things to take your mind off studies: water so warm you barely feel it, a surfing beach just outside the gateway, yoga and salsa dancing after school. It’s a wonder that any homework gets done: but you can’t avoid learning Spanish here.
To all Intercultura staff
I want to say thank you for the bottom of my heart for the wonderful time and teachings you have provided to my kids James and Simona Dobson. They were happy to be in Costa Rica and would love to return. James Dobson would have loved to spend more time there! (I was
My friends told me that they thought I was brave...brave because I’m a “mature” person…not a traditional university student going abroad…I’m a wife, a mother, an early retiree from a successful professional career, and a grandmother.
Personally, I don’t think I was brave. I think I was fortunate. Going to Intercultura Costa Rica to study Spanish was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’d do it again in a heart-beat. I’ve travelled a lot in my life…to Europe many times, to Asia, and all across the United States, but I had never ventured off by myself with a life goal in mind….to get closer to becoming bilingual.
Three weeks since our trip and it feels like three months. Anyway, although I have been quite busy with things not a day has gone by where I don't think of our very special time in Heredia with all of you. I cannot even begin to tell you how pleased we all were with the whole event...from homestay to lessons to trips to communication and to absolutely the nicest and most helpful and professional group of people I could have ever wanted to meet. Take care and please give my regards to all.
Hola, Adelita, Laura, and Vanesa! I studied at Intercultura in the Spring of 1995. I just wanted to drop a line to say "hello" and let you know that I think of you often and am glad to see that your school is going strong. My 5 week stay there although relatively short has really made a difference in my life. I plan to get back to Costa Rica at some point with my family so that they can experience what nobody can do justice with words. Vanesa (dancing queen!), my husband and I love to go latin dancing (when we have a sitter), and that is all because of you and your wonderful school. Keep up the great work, and I hope to see you all again sometime soon!
