Devin is from Richmond, Virginia and holds a BS in Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as a TEFL teaching certificate. She moved to Costa Rica from Washington, DC where she worked as a public relations associate for one of the world’s largest PR firms. While in Washington, DC she volunteered as an ESL teaching assistant at a local elementary school and with the International Children’s Hospital as a companion for patients traveling from Spanish speaking countries to receive treatment. Devin has also lived in Antigua, Guatemala where she studied Spanish and volunteered as a mentor for children in impoverished communities. She has been teaching and working in Costa Rica since 2012, and is now the Foreign Language Department Director, responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supporting Intercultura's group of 36 English, French and Portuguese teachers. In her free time, Devin enjoys cooking, writing, exercising and collecting passport stamps.
